Does ChatGPT recommend your business?
This free check counts how often ChatGPT names your business when a customer asks for one like it. We ask ChatGPT three customer questions three times each, search each question once on Google, and show the count, like “1 of 9”, in about a minute.

Example: a made-up check. Nothing is asked and nothing is sent.
Asking ChatGPT and Google
Sent. Check your inbox.
Book a call and we’ll run the full check (72 answers across ChatGPT, Google and Google’s AI Mode) before we meet.
What does the check ask?
Three questions a customer might type, with your trade and city filled in. For a roofer in Clearwater, FL:
- Who’s the best roofer in Clearwater, FL?
- Which roofers in Clearwater, FL have good reviews?
- Which roofer in Clearwater, FL would you trust most?
ChatGPT gets each question three times, because its answers change each time it’s asked. Google gets each once, and we note whether its AI Overview appeared, who it named, and which three businesses its map showed.
How do we count?
We capture each answer as a signed-out customer sees it, from a US location, with your city written into the question. You count as named when your business name, website or phone number appears in the answer, or when Claude, the AI model that reads each answer, finds you named and our code confirms the exact words are in it.
The count is how many answers name you. Your place in each list doesn’t count, because the lists change from one run to the next: in BrightLocal’s study of 200,085 local searches, published September 16, 2026, repeat runs of the same ChatGPT question shared 23% of the businesses they named.
What the details look like
The email lists who was named instead, quotes from ChatGPT’s answers, Google’s map top three and the sites ChatGPT linked to. Here is part of one for a made-up business.

Questions
Is the AI visibility check free?
Yes. You see your count without signing up. We ask for your email only if you want the details: who was named instead and quotes from each answer.
How accurate is it?
It is a snapshot: nine ChatGPT answers and three Google searches from one minute on one day, captured as a signed-out customer sees them. Nine answers keep one lucky or unlucky asking from deciding the number. The full check we run before a call asks eight questions, 72 answers in all, across ChatGPT, Google and Google’s AI Mode.
How much do ChatGPT’s answers change from one asking to the next?
A lot. In BrightLocal’s study of 200,085 local searches (September 2026), repeat runs of the same ChatGPT question shared 23% of the businesses named. That is why we ask each question three times and count.
How do I get my business recommended by ChatGPT?
Let AI crawlers such as OAI-SearchBot into your site, keep your Google Business Profile and listings complete and identical, answer real customer questions on your pages, and check what ChatGPT says every month. Our guide has all eight steps, and getting recommended is part of every customer funnel we build.
What happens to what I type?
Your trade and city go into the questions we send to ChatGPT and Google, through DataForSEO, the service that captures their answers. We keep the business name, trade, city, website and the answers with the check. If you add your email, it is saved as a lead in Mission Control, the system Josh and Chase run Colorful Systems on, and the details reach you through Resend, our email service.
