What ChatGPT and Google recommend in Tampa Bay
On October 6, 2026 we asked ChatGPT and Google 15 questions, 8 of them about finding help in Tampa, such as “AI consultant for small business in Tampa” and “best web design company for small businesses in Tampa”. Both tools placed us in Tampa, so the answers show what a local searcher sees.
ChatGPT named Tampa Bay businesses in all 16 of its answers to the Tampa questions (we asked each one twice). For “AI consultant for small business in Tampa”, both answers named eight businesses, and one showed a map card. Google’s local map, which showed three businesses for 7 of our 8 Tampa questions, is built from Google Business Profiles, so your listings matter alongside your website.
Google showed an AI Overview above the links on all 15 questions. For 7 of the 8 Tampa questions, it also showed a map with three local businesses.

Yes. In our October 2026 check, ChatGPT named Tampa Bay businesses in all 16 of its answers to eight questions about finding help in Tampa, and 7 of those answers showed map cards. Two of the questions that named no city still got Tampa or Florida companies.
